A 42-year dataset analyses showed a homogenization in vegetation composition across ecozones, significant shifts in mean elevation for 60% species in Western Tien-Shan. Kyrgyz mountain pastures are highly sensitive to variations in precipitation and increasing soil-moisture. Prolonged high NDVI values may also be due to vegetation degradation, not climatic changes. We evaluated and modeled agropastoralists' decision-making on land use, herd size under multiple factors' effects. Implications were for policy makers pasture use planning and grassland science in Kyrgyzstan and beyond.<eng>
