The course serves as an introduction to English (Anglophone) Literary Studies and is designed to introduce you to essential concepts and terminology of the field. We will engage with a variety of different texts from different genres (e. g. short story, poems, novel, play), cultures, and historical periods, critically analysing and interpreting them from different perspectives. We will also practice efficient ways of working with secondary literature. This course will equip you with the necessary skills, methods, and theories for your further studies of (Anglophone) literature. Please get a copy of the texts listed below.
