The present cumulative dissertation contributes to the chemistry of chromones, their aza-analogous quinolones and their derivatives. All results have been outlined in six scientific publications attached herein. The majority of developed synthetic methods are based on concerted nucleophilic reactions. It has been obtained and described 168 new heterocyclic compounds. These products have found their applications in accompanying research focused on the development of selective inhibitors of ecto-nucleotidase isozymes.<eng>
