Development and application of solid state nuclear magnetic resonance under dynamic nuclear polarization for investigation of biomolecular complexes ( Dissertationsschrift )

In this work, a new method for site-specific investigation in solid-state DNP called "Specific Cross-Relaxation Enhancement by Active Motions under DNP" (SCREAM-DNP) is presented and used to gain dynamical and structural information in different biomolecular systems. SCREAM-DNP allows to spectrally filter out the background resonances and is used as proof of binding between a ribonucleic acid and a ligand. Moreover, SCREAM-DNP is used for distance determination up to the subnanometer range.<eng>
