The goal of this seminar is to provide students with an overview of the main intellectual contributions to the field of International Relations (IR). In this course, we read the classical writings of Hans Morgenthau, E.H. Carr, and Hedley Bull, and proceed with more contemporary literature from social constructivist (Wendt) and feminist (Tickner) authors. Besides these “political science” reading, the seminar will also take a closer look at more “political” texts such as Huntington’s “clash of civilization”, Krauthammer’s “unipolar moment”, or Mahbubani’s view on the rise of Asia.
The course language is English. |
