Abstract

A standardized 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging protocol based on positioning defined Volumes Of Interest can be used to monitor myocardial inflammation and also as an early prognostic tool for assessing the efficacy of Cardiac induced Cell transplantation. Moreover, cardiomyocyte transplantation after myocardial infarction also alters the immune response in the heart and its beneficial effects appear to manifest primarily through its effect on circadian regulation and its epigenetic modification through histone modification thereby altering the mitochondrial metabolism in the heart and blood.
